Public Library Hours and PTA Meeting in Westfield

The Westfield Public Library will open only on Friday from 12 30 to 4 until further notice. The PTA meets Monday February 16 at 8 p m to view a film Pit of Despair about Drugs and drug abuse with discussion. Hoosier Hotshots Lead In High Team Games and Series

The Hoosier Hotshots posted the high team series with 1366 and the high team game of 480. Lois Klemme claimed the high individual series with 528, while Marge Dykstra followed at 499. Klemme also had the top individual game with 184, edging Dykstra at 181.

Mrs Gerd H Johnson 77 dies after long illness

Mrs Gerd H Johnson age 77 died Friday January 30 at Akron hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held February 3 at Akron Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev Harris Hostager officiating. Burial followed in Riverside cemetery with Schroeder Funeral Home directing. Survivors include her husband son Walter and daughter Mrs Vance Ericken, brother Fred Popken and four sisters. Born April 4 1892 in Jever Germany she came to the United States at age 20. She married Gerd H Johnson January 7 1914 in Preston Township Plymouth County.
