The Akron library showcases 27 official flags since 1777 with 13 stars and stripes, plus a chart on flags. A small rental fee covers a display designed for programs or banquets with a bicentennial theme. New adult books listed include Let Freedom Ring and The Guinness Book of World Records 1975.

Funeral for Mrs. Orson Liston in Hawarden, Mrs. F. McKee attended. Local residents made multiple visits to LeMars, Akron, Hawarden, Dakota City, and Sioux City, including the Lake, Ludwigs, Satthoff, Frerichs, and Meins families, with several business calls and social visits noted across the week.

Mr and Mrs Allen Rohlfs of Omaha Nebr hosted a birthday party November 28 at the Akron Legion hall for their son LaMont turning eight. Guests from Akron Hawarden Le Mars and Belton Missouri attended including the Klemme Heeren and Wilemme families. LaMont received many gifts and refreshments followed.

Freemasons Elect Officers at December Lodge Meeting

Freedom Lodge No. 434 AF and AM elected officers for the coming year at its December meeting. Gaynor Harris was named Worshipful Master, Vernon Lias Senior Warden, Donald Brundeen Junior Warden, Cyril Larsen Treasurer, Leonard Jurgens Secretary. Installation is set for January 19, 1976.

Naylor Husmann Engagement Planned For January Wedding

Beatrice Nebraska and Westfield Iowa families announce the engagement of Linda Susan Naylor and David Edward Husmann. A January 10 1976 wedding is planned. Linda works as secretary in the Cancer Research department at Nebraska University Hospital, David at the Le Mars Daily Sentinel. They plan to reside near Westfield after the marriage.

Obituary for Erwin W. Klemme from Akron Iowa

Erwin Wilmer Klemme born September 30 1918 in Akron Iowa died December last Tuesday 1975 at Akron hospital at age 57. He married Fern Nitzschke August 17 1939 and lived on the family farm east of Akron. He leaves Fern, daughter Nancy Nielsen and sons Robert Jerry Mark, nine grandchildren, his mother Anna, brother Walter and sister Lu Hinrichs plus many relatives. Funeral held at Immanuel Lutheran with Pastor Roy officiating and burial at Riverside cemetery Schroeder Funeral directed.
