The best man was Dwight Heiden, brother of the bride. The bride, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Thleiden, graduated Merrill high school in 1933. The groom, a young farmer near Hinton, has rented a farm. They plan a short wedding trip to the cast and will settle there after.
Union Creek Morning services at Union Creek church on Sunday September 1 begin at 11 a.m. with Sunday school at 10. The Ladies Aid meets at Luther Hall on Thursday September 5, hosted by Mrs J Westin. Guests include Mr and Mrs TI R Anderson Norma Mrs Carl Johnson and Mrs John Fredell. Dorothy Hultgren underwent an appendectomy at Akron hospital Saturday. Leonard Lamoureux visited Clifford Johnson home Monday. Forrest Virginia Mae Ruth Mary Marlo Olson and others had tonsils removed at Methodist hospital in Sioux City Thursday morning. John Ericson and Alfred Ericson of Rock Creek Minnesota visit relatives here this week. Audrey Ericson spends a few days with Dennis Hultgren.

A city survey in Memphis Tennessee tested how far four wheel brake cars traveling 40 mph take to stop. Only a tiny portion of drivers gave the correct 80 foot stopping distance. The findings warn that 50 feet is insufficient for a safe stop and many tourists are unaware of skid risks with locked wheels.
