Westfield Iowa celebrates its centennial Friday and Saturday August four and five at the junction of highway twelve and Plymouth county road A. The event honors Westfield Sioux and Hancock townships, tracing settlers from 1856 led by David M. Mills, first sheriff of Plymouth County. Mills, his wife Sarah Robinson, and five of seven children are buried on land once part of their 1240 acres south of Westfield.

On Monday evening July 24 the Alcester Farm Bureau finalized plans for the September 18 meeting to be held at the Alcester City Audatorium.
