The first chartered Iowa chapter of Alpha Epsilon Delta is formed at Drake University. It inducts six honorary members and 20 students including nine juniors in the College of Liberal Arts, among them Robert H. Koch of Akron.
George Talbott of Akron has been accepted for enrollment in the four quarter auto body program at Northwest Iowa Tech College in Sheldon. Training begins September 6, 1977.
Mr and Mrs Clarence Wagner of Elk Point were honored on their 50th wedding anniversary April 17 at the Elk Point Legion hall. About 250 friends and relatives attended. Hosts were their son Donald Wagner and Carroll Wagner of Grand Junction Colo and the couple's son in law and daughter in law. One sister attended from Santa Monica.
Akron Rainbow girls sponsor a sandwich salad and pie supper at the Masonic Temple on Saturday April 30. Serving begins at 5 p.m. and runs to 7 30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
Akron residents contributed to a 1977 Red Cross drive totaling $1,000, $135 more than 1976. Arden Johnson and Rev. David J. Roy express gratitude, noting community readiness to assist during need.
