Amatuer Show and PTA Play Arsenic and Old Lace in Westfield

The Westfield Tuesday Club hosts the Amateur Show on May 3 at 7 45 p m in the school auditorium. Also the Westfield PTA presents Joseph Kesselring's Arsenic and Old Lace this Friday and Saturday at 8 p m in the same venue with a large local cast and the proceeds funding playground equipment for lower grades.

The 24th annual Art Exhibit of Westfield Community School sponsored by the Tuesday Club will be held on Tuesday April 26 in the school auditorium. Open house starts at 1 pm with a silver tea. Miss Margaret Pederson Sioux City art supervisor will judge the work and speak at 2 pm.

Muskies to be stocked in Iowa natural lake program

Northern Muskellunge from Wisconsin stock will be transplanted into a handful of Iowa natural lakes as a reintroduction effort. The stock promises strong fighting and eating qualities and may prey on other fish, though chances of catching one are slim. Good anglers may boast if they land a musky.

Morningside Science Exposition set for April 28 29

Morningside College will stage its 33rd annual science exposition April 28 and 29 with about 65 students presenting 44 demonstrations. Visitors can view physics tank experiments, biology, chemistry and home economics displays across three floors of A. W. Jones Hall, plus rocket firing on the campus lawn and a tour of the O'Donoghue observatory with the electric reflector telescope.

Early reseal oats may be delivered before April 30

Farmers with 1958 crop oats under reseal may deliver grain early to the Plymouth County ASC Office. They receive a full year’s storage payment of 12 cents per bushel for the reseal period, even with early delivery. Early delivery clears the nonrecourse loan if the grain meets quality standards, aiding orderly movement and CCC stock disposal amid strong oats demand.

Death of Mrs William Nall in Akron

Mrs William Nall longtime Akron resident dies at 72 years in poor health. Funeral services scheduled Friday at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church. An obituary will be published next week. Also sale items offered at Register-Tribune Office including office supplies.

From Don's Desk Don Fleming notes the growing importance of clear explanations in society. He argues that ability to think on your feet determines occupational success and that early cultivation helps youth through 4-H demonstration teams to build confidence while presenting.

4-H Demonstration Contest At County And State Fairs

Demonstration teams may showcase their work at County and State Fairs. 4-H members should start choosing topics and review available office materials. Enrollment sheets for Agricultural Clubs must be in by May 16 to receive credit and to be eligible to show at the fair.
