An Associated Press report from Pittsburg describes a collision between the Akron express and the Butler accommodation on the Pittsburg and Western railroad near Glen Shaw Pennsylvania. Four persons were seriously injured one fatally likely. Names include Mrs H Quinn Asperns etc. The Akron train arrived over two hours late.

The Miremen's Pension and trust board voted to add ten dollars a month to pensions for local firemen with 30 years of service. Ex Chief B F Manderbach now receives forty dollars a month plus twelve from government for war health impairment, totaling sixty two. Several widows also draw pensions while Mechanical Engineer F B Loomis nears retirement after nearly eighty years in service. The meeting also proposed forty dollars monthly for those with twenty five years, and a fire at Milton Haushalter's Mattison street house last night prompted escape by the residents.

Firemen Consider Pension Tenure and Fund Plans

At a Wednesday meeting firemen discussed pension terms for long service, proposing that 700 years of service could yield rewards and that 15 consecutive years count toward eligibility. A totally disabled firefighter would get 55 per month. They agreed to voluntary contributions to the Benevolent Fund, now supported by a police tax. Trustees were elected, with Commissioner Fouser as president and mechanical engineer F F Loomis as secretary.

Helena court case alleges policeman kissed woman at ball

Therena Hervey sues Thomas Deckers, a Montclair police officer, for $200 damages claiming he grabbed her around the waist and kissed her at a February ball in the opera halls. Dockery tried to quell the disturbance. Hervey entered the ballroom, Deckers allegedly acted.

Peter Martin, fined by the mayor for intoxication, was assigned to Officer Taylor's division to perform an assignment. He lingered briefly with Taylor then fled the scene at a violent pace, evading further punishment. If he had money, the fine would have been paid. as a poor man, he escaped punishment.

Harold Wintrode Wins Patriotism Medal After Accident

Harold Wintrode aged 11 received a patriotism medal for enduring injury after a Fourth of July accident. While handling a 500 Drink cartridge revolver he struggled inserting a cartridge, the hammer fired, wadding and possibly turret penetrated his right hand. The Parmele Library Co. of Chicago delayed banks reaching patrons as local agent C J Brancher failed twice or thrice to locate them and left no calling card.
