Swiss Jet Man crosses the Channel with jet wing flight
Yves Rossy completed a 13 minute Channel crossing using a homemade jet propelled wing from Calais to Dover. The 49 year old Swiss aviator deployed a parachute near the South Foreland lighthouse and landed near an adjacent field amid cheers. He flew at about 125 miles per hour with a carbon composite wing weighing 121 pounds loaded with four kerosene jets.
