Forty years later Birmingham church bombing convictions renew grief
Four young girls died when a bomb exploded at Sixteenth Street Baptist Church in 1963. Convictions of Klansmen Robert Chambliss Thomas Blanton Jr and Bobby Cherry bring closure for some but the tragedy lingers in Birmingham. Relatives recall loss while the church remains a civil rights landmark drawing visitors and sparking reflection on hate and justice.
