Firefighters Brace For Long Day In Yellowstone Fires
Thousands of firefighters faced high wind as fires roared in and around Yellowstone National Park. Officials warned the day could be the worst on the lines since the blazes began three months earlier. Roads were closed while evacuees left a nearby mining town and park headquarters. Interior Secretary Hodel and Agriculture Secretary Lyng visited West Yellowstone and Old Faithful to assess the situation.
