Julie Andrews settles lawsuit against hospital and doctors
Beverly Hills California Julie Andrews reached a settlement Thursday with Dr Scott Kessler Dr Jeffrey Libin and Mount Sinai Hospital in New York over a botched throat operation that she says destroyed her singing voice. The terms were not disclosed. Andrews has struggled with profound vocal difficulties including severe roughness since June 1997 after undergoing surgery to remove throat nodules. The suit claimed she was not warned of possible loss of singing ability and that doctors promised to fix her vocal problems. Andrews is an Oscar winner known for Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music with stage credits in My Fair Lady and Camelot.
