Police search for a gunman and an accomplice after a Wednesday morning shooting at a Horseshoe Bend Road mobile home. Philip D. Morris Jr., 36, was found fatally shot in the abdomen at about 12:30 am and died at 1:37 am. The autopsy confirmed a single gunshot wound. toxicology and forensic evidence were sent to SLED for evaluation. The victim's girlfriend reportedly fired at the fleeing suspects as they fled.

Wilson Floyd returned to work at the Graniteville facility as Graniteville Specialty Fabrics reopened Aug 21 under new ownership. The project, led by Weldon Wyatt and partners, aims to preserve 2 jobs and many local livelihoods after Avondale Mills halted operations and the area faced layoffs. The renovated plant, praised as the Rolls Royce of this industry, intends to stabilize jobs and maintain customer supply.
