Lee Drenches Gulf Coast as Lee Weakens to Tropical Depression
Lee dumped over a foot of rain on New Orleans and spurred tornadoes as it moved ashore northward. Forecasters warned heavy rain and flood risk would linger from the Gulf into the Appalachians, with scattered wind damage and floodings reported in Alabama Louisiana and Mississippi. No direct deaths from Lee were listed though a drowning in Galveston and a search for a teen in Gulf Shores were reported alongside a Mississippi lightning strike injury.
