Beirut reports that Iranian jets raided Baghdad with two aircraft hitting the capital. The Iraqi military said eight civilians were wounded and one Iranian plane was shot down by surface to air missiles while Iraqi warplanes responded. A Iranian supply ship was sunk by Iraqi gun boats at the northern Persian Gulf tip.
Aiken County authorities charged 17 year old Woody Dean Alexander of 103 Century Lane with the stabbing death of 34 year old Robert L. Bing and the shotgun slaying of 18 year old David Housgard. He faces armed robbery and auto theft counts in Bing's death. Bing was found stabbed 73 times in a Heart of Augusta Motel room. Housgard's body was found on Oakbrook Drive after an extended missing person case. Autopsy pending for Housgard. authorities tie both victims to Aiken High and South Aiken High affiliations.
