Sentencing set in silver buying scheme
Ronnie Wilson, former Anderson County councilman, is to be sentenced in Greenville federal court on November 13 after pleading guilty to mail fraud in July. He faces up to 20 years in prison as authorities say about 90 million dollars were invested by hundreds of people in a silver buying Ponzi scheme that misrepresented receipts and lost nearly 60 million. Wilson has said he will provide restitution while his accounts remain frozen on a 1 million dollar bond. Last week Wallace Lindsey Howell was charged with aiding the scheme.
