Road Dyke Industries opens plant in Verenes Park Arkansas

A Quick Road Dyke Industries of Little Rock announces a new plant in Verenes Industrial Park in the old Roller Bearing building. The company in building products plans to create 50 to 65 jobs and has been in business 122 years per J David Jameson.

K-Reactor Start Up Planned at Savannah River Plant

DOE officials announced a phased start up of the K-reactor at Savannah River Plant in late December with full operations in early January. Grover Smithwick, manager of Oak Ridge, will oversee Savannah River Operations and Du Pont personnel will be trained under outside help. A fifth training shift will be created and shift engineers must hold degrees in their fields.

A federal report says radioactive and hazardous waste contamination at the Savannah River Plant is so severe that cleanup should be a top priority.
