Reenactment of Aiken Battle Draws Hundreds of Onlookers
Hundreds gathered beside the Aiken County agricultural building to watch the South defeat the North in a Civil War battle reenactment. The event marked Sherman's only defeat in 1865 as Confederates under Gen. Wheeler repelled his march. A regimental parade and another reenactment were scheduled for today, with about 200 troops from the Carolinas, Georgia and Florida.
