The Sun-Drop Diamond a 110.3 carat pear shaped yellow gem from South Africa sold for over 10.9 million dollars at Sotheby's Geneva auction including commission near 12.4 million. David Bennett called it a record for a yellow diamond at auction. Mourad Hatik noted limited buyers at such high prices.
