Annette Thomas-Jones forgives Acqunetta Rushon Smith after police returned her 3 day old son Christopher Michael Jones. Smith, arrested in Hot Springs, had allegedly posed as a nurse to abduct the infant from Doctors Hospital two weeks earlier.

Savannah River Plant manager John T. Lowe told the Aiken Rotary Club the August reactor event was not out of control and criticized media coverage and congressional claims of coverups. He noted the three SRP reactors are shut for safety upgrades and said DOE officials backed plant assurances.
