Howdy Doody seminar at Museum of Broadcasting honors 40th anniversary
About 70 people filled a small auditorium for a special Museum of Broadcasting seminar marking the 40th anniversary of Howdy Doody. Buffalo Bob Smith led the session as attendees discussed seltzer sprays in the face and duets with Howdy while TV history was examined. The show ran from 1947 to 1960 as the nation’s first regular children’s program and first color broadcast.
