Plants, passion grow after heart issues and retirement
Robbie and Jesse Winn transformed a southside yard into a lush two acre garden. From a few dogwood saplings to over a hundred hydrangeas and ninety hostas, they filled spaces with crape myrtles, tea olives, magno lias, and camellias. Jesse’s gardening, urged by his cardiologist and bolstered by Camellias and nurseries along the way, helped lift his spirits after heart surgery and retirement.

Environment concerns voiced by Dr Moreland at Cereus Gardeners
Alvin F Moreland DVM professor emeritus at University of Florida and attending veterinarian at Kennedy Space Center spoke on environmental concepts about seals on Privoloff Island near the Bering Sea. He noted a population drop from two million to about 200000 due to disease and overharvesting and described measures to preserve seals and allow harvesting again, with males only.
