Medicaid rate cuts hit South Carolina providers
State health care providers face a 4 percent agency cut amid a weakened economy. Doctors, pharmacists, and advocates voted to reject the cuts, warning reduced reimbursements will limit Medicaid access and deter providers from accepting Medicaid patients. The Medical Care Advisory Commission discussed the $66 million impact as the HHS department trims $20 million from its $521 million budget.
