Another Wisconsin Plan Is Proposed
Wisconsin proposes a primary reform to replace run offs. If no candidate wins a majority in a party nomination the top two advance to the general. Each party ballot yields a winner based on total votes, with the overall result deciding the party nominee. The system merges a final primary with the general election while preserving the party vote.

Falls Short Estimates of Wall Street Hit Farm Income
The Brookmire Economic Service foresees 1928-9 farm income rising about 1 percent from last year, far below the 36 percent gain in industrials. Corn belt totals edge higher, while North Dakota and Montana face large declines. Swing wheat in those states falls 40 to 60 percent, with South Dakota and Nebraska only partly offsetting higher prices. Kansas winter wheat and corn drop 25 and 44 percent, respectively, yet Southeast cotton shows brighter prospects, though Texas faces decreases. The season’s total income is set at 10,841,000,000.

Simplified Production Cuts Variety in American Industry
The Department of Commerce notes uniform production saves about 400 million annually through simplified art and standardized systems.
