ACTS renovation boosts space at Park Avenue building

Juvenile break in at Aiken County library reported
Two girls allegedly entered the Aiken County library this weekend and were found hiding in the attic. They received trespass notices. A Ford Escort was stolen from 400 block Plunkett Avenue valued at 1100. A radio was stolen from a vehicle at Rutland Drive and York Street overnight. An wallet disappeared at a York Street gas station after a man saw an unknown person near the car. An air conditioner was stolen from 500 block Richland Avenue valued 200 to 300. A woman saw a subject exit a school bus with a weapon in his pants and police will investigate.

Wagener man dies from SC 39 crash injuries
Frank W. Gantt 86 of Earle Street Wagener died from injuries after a Monday crash on South Carolina Highway 39. His 2003 Ford Aerostar pulled onto the roadway from a ballfield, hitting a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix. The Pontiac driver was treated and released. The coroner’s office said the accident remains under investigation and this is the 16th traffic fatality of the year.
