Ranson Pleads Guilty to Neglect at Care Center

Fire damages storage garage on Hill Avenue in Aiken

Firefighters fought a blaze at 344 Hill Ave as a light drizzle fell on Friday night. The Aiken Department of Public Safety arrived after 9 p.m. and waited for SCE&G to cut power before containing the garage fire. One power line fell and energized a fence, but the home was not affected.

Jeep SUV crosses median, kills driver on I 20

A westbound Jeep Cherokee slammed into an eastbound 18 wheeler on Interstate 20 near mile marker 20. The Cherokee driver died at the scene. The truck driver was airlifted to a Augusta hospital with serious injuries.
