An informal poll was conducted in the Rose’s parking lot by staff reporter Nana Farris with staff photos by Ginny Southworth. The organizer states the poll is not a scientific sampling and should not be treated as representative.
Aiken City Council awarded a lot to a company in exchange for services to restore the parcel to a safe condition. Public works director Wyatt Johnson said the restoration work is worth at least the lot’s value. Council also amended zoning rules for Neighborhood Business and Planned Unit Developments and referred two annexation requests for Houndslake tracts totaling 5.3 and 30.05 acres to the Planning and Zoning Commission.
A one day seminar sponsored by USC Aiken Office of Continuing Education explains fundamentals of good public relations. Bath First Baptist Church will honor volunteer firefighters and their families Sunday at 7 pm. Certificates of appreciation will be given to each fireman from Langley Bath and Clearwater fire departments. A plaque will be given for each fire department.
