Where Memories Live by Kathy Widener recalls a Lexington farm

Local author Kathy Gantt Widener preserves Uncle Leon O Gantt memories from a Lexington County farm in Rayfin community through the first novel of a trilogy. She signs copies from 1 to 3 pm Saturday at Patt Hallmark Aiken Office Supply on Whiskey Road. The book spans 1810 to 1923 and weaves family photos and a tree into a narrative of farm life, wartime service, and a remembered era. The second volume covers 1923 to 1950 with North Africa and Italy World War II service experiences, while the memoir third book covers Widener’s childhood. The author’s genealogical and historical interests fueled the project.
