Heater blamed in Mitchell County jail fire that killed eight
Investigators say an electric heater mounted on a storage room wall may have sparked the fatal fire at the Mitchell County Jail. The blaze confined to the storage area. 17 inmates were inside when it started. Eight died, trapped as cells remained locked. Relatives mourn inmate Jason Boston, 27, a father of three, as officials pledge answers and a memorial is planned.
