South Carolina to establish temporary Medical Examiners Board
The General Assembly cleared the way for Gov Riley to appoint a temporary state Board of Medical Examiners and set up an independent election process after a Supreme Court ruling deemed the previous nominating method unconstitutional. The act removes SCMA from the process and lets the board conduct elections. Lone survivor Greg Palmer, 28, and three friends were lost at sea when their boat took on water.
