I-20 crash prompts multi day delays near Augusta Canal
A tractor trailer crashed into the Augusta Canal bridge on I-20, knocking out about 150 feet of guard rail. South Aiken High Student Dies After Wreck
An 18 year old South Aiken High School student Sonja Lasher died Monday from a severe brain injury after a single vehicle crash Saturday at the Talatha Church and Banks Mill roads intersection. She was ejected from the car and pronounced at the Medical College of Georgia shock trauma unit. Preliminary tests showed no alcohol or drugs as factors. This marks the 14th traffic fatality of the year, with four teenage females among the fatalities. Further details from the South Carolina Highway Patrol were not available at press time.
