Severe Sunday Storm Hits Aiken County with Strong Winds
Aiken County faced heavy rain and high winds Sunday afternoon with gusts over 55 mph and dime sized hail. Downed trees and power lines left some residents without electricity and damaged at least two vehicles. Meteorologist John Lynn of Channel 6 notes the storm began around 3 45 p m and lasted about 30 minutes.

Bush Field in Augusta recorded 74 mph winds from the ice storm, toppling weakened trees. A tree struck a car on Silver Bluff Road between Whiskey and Pine Log roads with no injuries.
