Spirit of South Carolina sails back to life as build resumes
Work restarted in March on the 140 foot Spirit of South Carolina, a pilot schooner planned as a floating classroom and goodwill ambassador for the Palmetto State. Brad Van Liew said about a third of the 4 million needed is raised. volunteers like Kenny Blyth return to complete the hull with longleaf pine.
