Aiken High hosts Class AAA playoff games this week
Aiken High School will host two playoff matches over the next two nights. The Hornets meet Northwestern tonight at 7 in a first round game, while the Lady Hornets, who had a first round bye, face Lexington Wednesday at 7 in a second round match. The Hornets are No. 5 seed and Northwestern is No. 11 in Upper State. winners advance to Hillcrest. The Lady Hornets are No. 3 seed with Lexington as No. 6 seed. Tickets are $4 and SC High School League passes only. Midland Valley wrestler Travis recently won the 180-pound state title in the strength meet. Mustang football standout Mays also earned top lifter honors.

Kisner Wins Region Title in Golf Meet at Lexington
South Aiken High School junior Kevin Kisner captured the Region 3-AAAA individual title at the Country Club of Lexington, finishing just ahead of North Augusta's Scott Brown. Eisner placed fourth, and North Augusta qualified for state, with South Aiken, Aiken, and other squads advancing as well. Kisner will compete at Furman University for the state tournament on May 89. Brown, a College of Charleston signee, finished three back with multiple birdies.
