The City of Aiken and Aiken County raise the sales tax to seven percent countywide with a new one cent Local Option Tax for roads and capital projects. A two cent prepared foods tax in the city ends as funds shift to countywide revenue. Lodging remains taxed at three percent within city limits for tourism projects.
