Aggressive Plan Urged To Lure Industry In Aiken County
Aiken County administrator Scott Barnes urged a more aggressive, countywide economic development approach at a Wakin’ breakfast sponsored by the Aiken Chamber. He pressed for a unified marketing plan, a county land use scheme, and support for the textile sector and Savannah River Plant prospects, noting no local industrial development board and competition with North Augusta. Leonard Browder received the Chamber’s Small Business Man of the Year award.
