Aiken Hunt Meet Horses Race Day Upset and Crowds
Jerry Fishback rode Double Wrap to a 3 56 winning time, the first ride for the horse by Fishback. About 9 000 fans attended as sun broke through, with organizers noting a potential record crowd. The event featured the Aiken Trials and a plan to shift Hunt Meet and Trials dates next year, plus a new infield rail funded by Paul Mellon and Mackenzie Miller. Proceeds from the Aiken Sulky Races benefited Shrine projects.
