Aiken Vocational Rehabilitation Center Aids Local Workers
The Aiken Vocational Rehabilitation Center serves Aiken Barnwell and Edgefield counties, helping people with disabilities from alcoholism to spinal cord injuries return to work. It operates as a training center on York Street, collaborating with area businesses to reduce hiring costs and assist employed individuals facing workforce challenges. The center aims for self sufficiency and taxpaying citizens, with services available under federal guidelines. The Aiken Sunrise Rotary meets weekly at Houndslake Country Club, led by president Steve Black.
