Belvedere residents face a public hearing at Belvedere Elementary School at 7 to decide if the Belvedere Water District can issue a 1 million revenue bond to buy the system now run by the City of North Augusta. The plan includes an operating budget and millage rate, plus potential condemnation if voters approve.
A 15 year old girl was shot in the back on Hampton Avenue around 1 30 last night. The shooter in a green car remains unknown as investigators from the Aiken County Sheriff Department follow leads. The wounded girl was treated and released from Aiken Community Hospital. The case is under investigation.
The Savannah River Plant and Plant Vogtle in Burke County Georgia sit near a geological fault per a US Geological Survey report. Regulators say the fault poses no current danger. The 40 mile fault runs southeast of Plant Vogtle, across the Savannah River, and into SRP property, with little movement in 40 million years.
The Area 5 Zone Advisory Council will meet at 7:30 PM at Silver Bluff High School on U S 278 to hear student appeals and then move to executive session.
