Aiken Faces Water Revenue Shortfall Amid Rainy Year
City Manager Steven Thompson warns Aiken’s water sales will run about 500000 under projections due to above normal rainfall. The 1994-95 budget projected 4.7 million in water sales, offset by a 400000 surplus from 1993-94. A 12 percent rate hike funds depreciation to repair lines without debt.
