Rain soaked Aiken County with nearly 15 inches since January surpassing normal by about 5 inches. Forecasters at Bush Field predict more showers and possible thunder through March 13 as residents brace for continued wet weather and cloudy skies.

The proposal moves River Bluff and Indian Creek back to South Aiken and shifts Oakwood Windsor to Aiken Middle, while J.D. Lever is split between Aiken and Schofield Middle. Parents criticized the changes for separating students from familiar environments and lengthening bus rides, with district leaders acknowledging that no option will please all residents.
About 30 parents gathered at Warrenville Elementary to voice complaints over Area 3 rezoning plans. They warned relocations would uproot students from familiar classmates and teachers and force longer bus or driving routes to the new Warrenville Elementary, a 500 capacity facility.
The North Augusta City Council unanimously approved annexing 3.7 acres in Edgefield County along West Martintown Road with a C-2 zoning that bans video poker and most amusements. Officials say land use controls take precedence over county laws and intend to bar machines in annexed areas despite a statewide precedent debate.
