Rebels Won’t Disarm Until Aristide Supporters Do
Haitian rebels in Gonaives say they will not disarm unless militant Aristide supporters also lay down weapons. Local commander Winter Etienne notes guns are hidden and will be kept for later use if needed. The violence follows Aristide’s flight and the Feb. 5 uprising that has killed at least 130 people.
