British Olympic Shooting Team Arrives for Aiken County Camp
The British Olympic Shooting Team visits Aiken County this week for a training camp at the South Carolina Outdoor Shooting Center. Members include Roger Peace James Mair Peter Boden Alan Dixon Andrew Austin and Jonathan Stern. Host residents Louis Porreco and Michael Jerome plan a welcome dinner Thursday at Carolina Bistro 6 p.m. Public events include a 10 a.m. Saturday shoot and barbecue with no admission, but shooting and food fees apply. The Aiken Artist Guild launches its Spring Art Show at the Aiken Center for the Arts with a Sunday reception. More than 40 local artists contributed paintings and the exhibit runs through March. Awards include Best In Show to Barbara Cheetham for Three Rivers Gospel in Aiken and the William Colgate Award to Isabel Vandervelde for Genealogy 1880.

The South Carolina Magnolia Chapter of the Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers will hold its quarterly meeting at Gianni's Little Italy in Aiken.
