Community center seeks old family photos for Aiken County history
Researchers from the Center for African-American History Art and Culture in Aiken gather photos and stories for a pictorial history book. A March 4 event at Second Baptist Church Prep School on Laurens Street invites residents to bring pictures and memories for copying and recording. A volunteer will visit homes if needed to collect items. The project funds the Immanuel Institute restoration, bought for $360,000, as part of countywide enrichment.
