City Council Approves Phase One Northside Park Work
Aiken City Council unanimously authorizes phase one of Northside Park on Columbia Highway with an amphitheater trails ADA playground sheltered picnic area and restrooms. The 52 million 118 acre project along US 1 aims to finish phase one by summer 2017 with CHA Consulting at 5.5 percent of a 2.7 million construction estimate.

Runoff Set for District S1 House Race in District 81
Voters in District 81 head to the polls for a runoff between KT Ruthven and Bart Blackwell. Ruthven, a local realtor and former Aiken GOP chair, faces Blackwell, a businessman and 2015 Aiken Chamber of Commerce board chair. Aiken Technical College President Winsor Receives Palmetto Honor
Dr. Susan Winsor was presented the Order of the Palmetto at a Center for Energy and Advanced Manufacturing reception in Graniteville recognizing her 17 years leading Aiken Technical College.
