Bonded theft suspect to face judge after extended absence
Probation officer Hazel Durant reported a June 19 to June 20 absence of Moore, who had been convicted of a $5 million social services theft and part of a larger check scam. He was arrested June 20 by the Aiken County Sheriff's Department for disorderly conduct and will be brought before Judge Margaret Seymer in Columbia for bond status review. A 1998 Ford Mustang driven by Burleson struck a pickup on Silver Bluff Road near Gem Lakes and crashed into a power pole. Passenger Austin Paige McNamee, 17, and Burleson were wearing seat belts. both died. Toxicology results pending as investigators review the scene.
