Ex-DSS Official Bond Revoked After Aiken Waffle House Arrest

Former Department of Social Services finance director Paul Timothy Moore, 61, had bond revoked by a federal judge after an early morning arrest for disorderly conduct at an Aiken Waffle House. Moore had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail fraud and theft of government funds, was sentenced to 10 years, and awaited prison reporting date. He reportedly violated monitoring rules by leaving home and showed bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and alcohol odor during the incident.

Local wrestler shifts to Gracie Barra Jiujitsu in Augusta

Man Charged After Gunfire Probe At Aiken Complex

Police investigated reports of shots fired at The Colony at South Park in Aiken and found drugs, pipes, a gas mask, and weapons including a revolver and a 12 gauge shotgun. David Bradley Wilkinson, 22, faces multiple charges including possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful weapon possession. A 16 year old girl, visiting the suspect, was released to a guardian.

Reconstruction shuts down Silver Bluff as crash probe continues

MAIT and Aiken Public Safety investigators spent over two hours Wednesday mapping a fatal crash scene on Silver Bluff Road. An 18-year-old Beech Island man, Steven A. Burleson, died after a high speed wreck on June 16. Authorities used scale drawings to assess speed and angles of impact as traffic was rerouted until after 11 a.m.
