Fuel Storage Wins Blessing at Savannah River Site

The SRS Citizens Advisory Board approved recommendations to allow interim storage and shipment of spent foreign nuclear fuel to SRS from 41 countries. The vote was 128 to 3 with three abstentions. Bell seeks post conviction relief in life sentence case

John James Bell, 45, sentenced to life plus two 80 year terms for killing a two year old Kristal Scurry, seeks post conviction relief alleging ineffective counsel and unfair trial. The case centers on the death of Krystal Scurry who vanished in 1991 and was found near Jackson. Bell is jailed at Bennettsville State Maximum Security Institution.
