Nextel to Sponsor NASCAR Winston Cup Trade
Wireless giant Nextel will replace RJ Reynolds as NASCAR's Winston Cup title sponsor starting next season. The deal, announced at a Times Square news conference with Bill France Jr and top drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr and Jeff Gordon in attendance, will reach an audience of about 75 million fans across more than 100 countries. The move ends RJ Reynolds 31-year sponsorship amid tobacco advertising limits and industry lawsuits.
