Perry trounces Lamb in South Carolina Republican primary

State Rep. Robert Perry led Walter Lamb with 60.9 percent of the vote, 2560 ballots to 1644, in a Columbia primary. Perry thanked supporters at the Aiken County Council building while Lamb waited at his Woodside home for results.

Moore Comes Out Swinging in South Carolina Gubernatorial Race

Sanford wins South Carolina GOP nomination amid Lovelace challenge

Governor Mark Sanford easily captured the Republican nomination as 72 percent of precincts reported. Oscar Lovelace ran a poorly funded campaign and claimed the governor should work closer with legislators to move the state forward. Voter Angela Chambers criticized Sanford for not uniting the office. Sanford declined repeated debate requests and avoided naming Lovelace.
