North Augusta will host a new $8.4 million business and technology center to incubate small firms. Control Data Worldtec will operate the BTC, offering services like secretarial help and computer technology at low costs, with construction to begin in September and completion by March 1985.

SRP set to finish two major SRP projects by late 1980s
Savannah River Plant plans two large builds the Fuel Manufacturing Facility FMF and the Defense Waste Processing Facility DWPF. FMF costing about 176 million will produce fuel components for Navy ships. DWPF costing about 870 million aims to immobilize 30 million gallons of high level waste in borosilicate glass. DWPF to begin operations in late 1989 and FMF in July 1986 with peak construction around 500 workers.

Jackson water violations trimmed after DHEC review
DHEC dropped most suspected violations against Jackson water system after a meeting with town officials. Only one fault remains the booster pumps are not two feet above floor level to prevent flooding. A June 28 check is planned.
